TFFC: Steeplechase

((Steeplechase is for a roleplay my friend and I are hashing out called "Transformers: Hibernation". It takes place on Cybertron during the 4 million year period that Optimus, Megatron, and both crews are in stasis... it leaves a lot of room, and is really more of an AU sort of thing, but it'll be fun anyway. Er... moving on...))

TECH SPEC BIO
Steeplechase, named for her extremely fast landspeeds, is one of the best Autobot spies. Small and maneuverable, her vehicle mode can slip in and out of tight spaces with little difficulty at all. She carries small neutralizing chargebombs and two handheld photon pistols for combat in her robot form. Equipped with infrared, heat, and nightvision, she is always prepared for action in the field. The headlights she is equipped with can create powerful enough beams to blind any Decepticon that should get too close, giving her just enough time to escape! Her internal communications array is more powerful than any Autobot currently on Cybertron, and while she doesn't exceed the capabilities of Autobots like Blaster, she is the next best thing they have while stranded on Cybertron.

PERSONALITY
Off the field, Steeplechase is entirely unlike what she is on. She is sweet and demure, extremely quiet and very shy. Time not spent running practice laps in the course at Iacon is spent trying to contact the Ark via Teletran 1 or Blaster. She is very easily one of the gentlest Autobots to have lived, always ready to lend a helping hand or a shoulder to cry on. She has no medical skills, but has been known to do what she can to help a fellow Autobot in need. In mentality, Steeplechase is only around 17... and extremely dedicated to her 'big brother', Jazz, whom she hasn't seen since the Ark left Cybertron. Extremely concerned for his wellbeing, as well as the health of his crewmates and the Autobot leader Optimus Prime, she is always doing whatever she can to get in touch with them as soon as possible. When Jazz left with the Ark mission, he did what any good brother would have done in his situation. He left Steeplechase in the care of Musketeer... hoping he would be back much sooner than he was...

ABILITIES
In robot mode, Steeplechase is very quick and agile, able to easily move through enemy strongholds and even enemy fire while taking very little damage. She is an excellent shot with her pistols and has an excellent intuition as far as what to how long to set her chargebombs for when she releases them in the company of the enemy in order to give her enough time to escape. Using the variety of vision implants she has, she can detect enemies in most areas of light and dark areas. Her communications array is helpful for alerting fellow Autobots of the need for assistance at any point in time. In vehicle mode, she is just as quick and agile. Her headlights are able to temporarily blind foes, allowing she and any allies with her to make hasty retreats!

WEAKNESSES
Being as timid as she is, if caught alone, Steeplechase can choke up. While she is an excellent spy and very good on her own, in tight spots where she is surrounded, she can sometimes become disoriented. If she misjudges how long it should take to escape a situation, she can be caught in her own chargebomb's shock, rendering her unable to move for as long as her enemies. Her infrared and heatvision have been known to short out on occasion, and her headlights have been known to blow out. She is a very weak fighter, only really useful when not seen or at a distance.

Steeplechase is a pretty unusual character in that she's young as far as Autobots go, and yet, she doesn't have that same hotheaded nature you get out of most young TFs. Steeplechase, as she is here, is actually how she is forever... she doesn't live to see her brother again, as at some point during the war back on Cybertron, she is destroyed.

I unfortunately have no plans for a color scheme for Steeplechase yet, although I was thinking of white, blue, and kind of a sea foam green. An interesting note: the two songs that I had playing while designing her were Simple Plan - Grow Up and Matchbox 20 - Disease.

My second relatively successful attempt at mecha! Go me!
