"No!" 35 shrieked, tearing out of her mother's grasp to rush over where 18 had landed. She had him in her arms in a second, pressing her hand to his face, sobbing as she gave him a gentle shake. She tried to ignore that his left leg was missing below the knee, and the scratches, burns, and scrapes that covered the canvas of his body. "No, no, no! NO! 18! Please! Please, wake up!"

7 took a step forward, choked. She knew her daughter's pain, and yet, she had no idea how to alleviate it. With the damage 1's oldest son had sustained... "35... honey, he's..."

35's head jerked back to her mother. "No, Mama! Don't you dare say it! He's not! He's not!" Her gaze swept back to 18. "Do you hear me, 18?! You have to wake up! You have to be okay! Are you listening?! I love you!"

18 belongs to ~JellicleKitten.
35 is mine.
"9" belongs to Shane Acker.

(No, I did not kill 18. He'll be fine. I wanted to write some drama, though.)
